Data Security and Electromechanical Lock Solutions in Data Center and Server Racks

While technological progress as well as the Web, cloud computing, smart devices, and other technologies make life easier, the security of our data and data protection requirements have simultaneously become a key concern for all data center administrators.

The importance of data security continues to increase as potential loss of files containing critical data such as official documents of governments in some cases or private documents of users in others may potentially lead to unrecoverable personal data losses or commercial loss.

In many industrial areas, use and management of mechanical keys are highly risky even in cases where such keys are protected by a password. Tracking and monitoring access would not be possible when using mechanical keys. Considering the same problem for application areas of data centers, this condition becomes even more critical.

Mesan Locks R&D team designed electromechanical locking solutions, remote monitoring and management system based on the need for access security required for data center server cabinets and other industrial cabinets where data storage medium are maintained as well as tracking the parameters on the site.

As Mesan Locks, we provide our valuable customers with necessary support by offering our ELS - Electronic Locking System solutions, which have been created with an aim to improve the physical security as well as traceability of data center server cabinets.

Our Electronic Locking System solutions can be used to improve the physical security of server cabinets, offering the option for remote monitoring of door status and allowing authorized users to be able to remotely lock and unlock cabinet doors within the restrictions and authorizations to be implemented by administrators and managers. In addition, authorized users may be assigned different roles, authorization based on day/hour may be granted, and you may also create reports by filtering the security information records stored based on date, user, cabinet, or location information through the advanced filter module contained in Web-based ELS Management Software and export them in various formats including PDF, MS Word, or MS Excel.

ELS solutions allow data center administrators to be able to monitor when and by whom the cabinet doors were unlocked and accessed as well as helping them to report and give status updates to their senior management.

The integrated management system also allows for monitoring and management of data center server cabinets through the network by using Web-based software. Thanks to this system, any potential alerts to be created by the system can be notified to the relevant authorized personnel via e-mail.
